The Golden State Warriors pay a visit to the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center on Tuesday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost seven of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after coming up short against the Spurs in a 110-108 loss on Sunday. Jordan Poole led the team with 28 points, Klay Thompson added 24 points while Andrew Wiggins and Otto Porter Jr. each scored 16 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 33 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to claw their way back from an early 14-point deficit only to see the Spurs snatch the game from them with the game-winning shot from Keldon Johnson with just 0.3 seconds left on the clock.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in decent form as they’ve split their last 12 games and they will be looking to build some momentum after outlasting the Thunder in a 90-85 home win on Sunday. Wendell Carter Jr. led the team with 30 points and 16 rebounds, Franz Wagner added 11 points with seven rebounds and four assists while Moritz Wagner chipped in with 10 points off the bench. As a team, the Magic shot just 38 percent from the field and seven of 31 from the 3-point line as they managed just 14 points in the second quarter to trail for most of the contest until the fourth quarter where they held the Thunder to just nine points in the final 7:27 to finish on top.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Magic are 13-30-1 ATS in their last 44 home games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Orlando and the Warriors are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Orlando.
The Warriors will again be without Stephen Curry while Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody are both listed as questionable and the Magic will again be missing Jalen Suggs who is dealing with an ankle injury. The Warriors have really gone off the boil lately and they might still be kicking themselves after getting their hearts broken in a tough loss to the Spurs on Sunday. The Magic have been playing some decent basketball lately and they looked great on the defensive end in their win over the Thunder. I think the Warriors can snap out of their funk with a much-needed win in this spot, but with the line so hefty, I’m leaning towards the Magic to hang around and get the cover at home.
