The Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers duke it out at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday night.
The Miami Heat have been in great shape as they’ve won 10 of their last 13 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Thunder in a 120-108 home win on Friday. Tyler Herro led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench, Bam Adebayo and Duncan Robinson each scored 19 points while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Heat shot 48 percent from the field and 18 of 51 from the 3-point line as they poured in 42 points in the second quarter to take a 15-point lead into halftime, which ballooned to 29 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after coming up short against the Raptors in a 93-88 loss last night. Joel Embiid led the team in scoring with 21 points and 13 rebounds, Tyrese Maxey added 19 points while James Harden tallied 17 points with nine rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the 76ers shot just 41 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 16-point lead after pouring in 37 points in the first quarter, before going ice-cold in the fourth quarter where they managed just four points in the final 4:33 to allow the Raptors to run them down in the end. Embiid shot just six of 20 from the field while Tobias Harris had a rough game of just five points on two of nine shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 7-0-1 ATS in their last eight road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The 76ers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest, 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against a team above .600 and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Heat are 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
The Heat are going to be shorthanded in this one as Victor Oladipo and Gabe Vincent are both out while Caleb Martin and Jimmy Butler are both listed as questionable. The 76ers are coming into this game just about at full strength and they were on a nice run before getting stopped by the Raptors last night. You can make an argument for either side here, but with the Heat a little banged up, I’m leaning towards the 76ers to bounce back with a narrow win and cover at home.
