The Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns meet Friday in NBA action at the Footprint Center. The Chicago Bulls need a win after losing seven of their last nine games. The Phoenix Suns look for a win after winning five of their last six games.
The Chicago Bulls are averaging 112.5 points on 48.4 percent shooting and allowing 111 points on 46.8 percent shooting. DeMar DeRozan is averaging 28.1 points and 5.1 assists, while Zach LaVine is averaging 24.6 points and 4.9 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic is the third double-digit scorer and Coby White is dishing 2.9 assists. The Chicago Bulls are shooting 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 81.4 percent from the free throw line. The Chicago Bulls are allowing 36.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 42.9 rebounds per game.
The Phoenix Suns are averaging 114 points on 48.3 percent shooting and allowing 106.1 points on 44.1 percent shooting. Devin Booker is averaging 25.6 points and 5.1 rebounds, while Deandre Ayton is averaging 16.9 points and 10 rebounds. Mikal Bridges is the third double-digit scorer and Cameron Johnson is grabbing 4.1 rebounds. The Phoenix Suns are shooting 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 79.6 percent from the free throw line. The Phoenix Suns are allowing 33.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.6 rebounds per game.
The Bulls are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Suns are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The under is 5-1 in Bulls last 6 overall. The over is 4-0 in Suns last 4 overall. The Bulls are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Phoenix.
The Chicago Bulls are a good enough team to deserve a look in the underdog role, but they've been shaky at best these last couple of weeks and aren't a team I'm thrilled to back in a spot like this. The Phoenix Suns remain hot and that includes winning their last five games by an average of 15.6 points, and they win at home by an average of 8.7 points. The Suns bury opponents whenever they feel like it. If that Bulls defense doesn't improve, this one could get ugly. Give me the Suns.
