The Indiana Pacers invade the AT&T Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be eager to arrest a three-game skid after coming up short against the Cavaliers in a127-124 loss on Tuesday. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 25 points and nine assists on nine of 14 shooting, Jalen Smith, Goga Bitadze and Duane Washington Jr each scored 15 points while Buddy Hield chipped in with 14 points and eight assists. As a team, the Pacers shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 32 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control after taking a 10-point late in the third quarter, but it all came undone in the fourth quarter where the Cavaliers poured in 37 points to snatch the game from them in the end.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after upsetting the Jazz in a 104-102 home win last night. Dejounte Murray led the team with 27 points, nine rebounds, four assists and five steals, Jakob Poeltl and Zach Collins each scored 15 points while Keldon Johnson chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Spurs shot 40 percent from the field and six of 29 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and managed just 14 points in the third quarter to trail by as many as 15 points, before they came to life with 40 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Spurs are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall, the Pacers are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Pacers are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in San Antonio.
The Pacers are still missing a bunch of players including TJ McConnell, Myles Turner, Lance Stephenson and Malcolm Brogdon while Goga Bitadze is listed as questionable. The Spurs have ruled out Keita Bates-Diop while Romeo Langford, Devontae Cook and Doug McDermott are all listed as day to day. It’s hard to split these two struggling teams, but the Spurs looked impressive in their shock win over the Jazz last night and I think they can carry that momentum into this one against an inconsistent Pacers team.
