The Detroit Pistons play host to the Chicago Bulls at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in a slump as they’re now on a five-game losing streak after getting stomped by the 76ers in a 121-106 road loss on Monday. Zach LaVine led the team with 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists, DeMar DeRozan added 23 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists while Coby White chipped in with 19 points off the bench. As a team, the Bulls shot 44 percent from the field and eight of 24 from the 3-point line, but with so many key players missing, they just had no chance of keeping pace with the 76ers’ Joel Embiid who torched them for 43 points.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in great shape as they’ve won six of their past eight games overall and they will be gunning for a season-high fourth straight victory after beating the Hawks by 113-110 overtime win on Monday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 28 points and 10 assists, Jerami Grant added 23 points while Marvin Bagley chipped in with 19 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they survived a late scare at the end of regulation, before pulling away in overtime to escape with the upset win against an in-form Hawks team.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine road games, 36-17-1 ATS in their last 54 games against a team with a losing record and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. The Pistons are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 8-0 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 7-0 in the last seven meetings overall, the Bulls are 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Bulls are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in Detroit.
The Bulls are going to be without Alex Caruso and Lonzo Ball once again while Nikola Vucevic is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, while the Pistons are still without Frank Jackson and Isaiah Stewart. The Pistons have really come to life with six wins in their past eight games and I think they can keep it going in this one. I like the Bulls to get the much-needed win in this spot, but with all their injuries, I’d rather side with the Pistons to get the cover.
