The Atlanta Hawks and the Milwaukee Bucks duke it out at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their past eight games, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after coming up painfully short the Pistons in a 113-110 overtime road loss on Monday. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the team with 22 points and six assists, John Collins added 17 points with 11 rebounds while Trae Young chipped in with 14 points and 12 assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line as they missed a chance to win it in regulation, before coming up short in the overtime period where the Pistons’ Cunningham took the game away from them. Young had a rough game as he shot just five of 20 from the field for his 14 points, but it was good to see Lou Williams back in the lineup as he scored 13 points on six of eight shooting.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in great shape as they will be eager to build on their current five-game win streak after blowing past the depleted Thunder in a 142-115 road win last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 39 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Khris Middleton added 25 points with nine assists while Bobby Portis tallied 18 points with 14 rebounds. As a team, the Bucks shot 53 percent from the field and 20 of 40 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 76 points in the first half to take the early lead, before finishing with a flurry in the fourth quarter where they outscored the Thunder by 37-22 to make it a complete blowout in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games against a team above .600 and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games. The Bucks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games, 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games playing on zero days’ rest and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the over is 19-9-1 in the last 29 meetings in Milwaukee and the Hawks are 13-5 ATS in the last 18 meetings in Milwaukee.
The Hawks were building a bit of momentum before getting stopped in their tracks by the Pistons on Monday and they should have Kevin Huerter back in the lineup after he sat out the last one. The Bucks have been on fire as they’ve reeled off five straight wins and they hitting their shots from deep in last night’s big win over the Thunder. It’s tempting to take the Hawks with the points, but they are only 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games against a team above .600, so I’m more comfortable taking the Bucks at the short line.
