The Boston Celtics invade the Gainbridge Fieldhouse to battle the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.
The Boston Celtics have been one of the hottest teams in the league lately as they’ve won 11 of their last 12 games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Pistons in a 113-104 road win last night. Jaylen Brown led the team with 27 points, Jayson Tatum added 26 points with 11 rebounds and six assists while Payton Pritchard chipped in with 19 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Celtics shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 26 from the 3-point line as they found themselves in trouble against the Pistons, trailing by at the start of the fourth quarter, before going on a pivotal 17-6 run to pull away and escape with the solid victory behind their bench play.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in a major slump as they’ve lost eight of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short to the Thunder in a 129-125 overtime loss on Friday. Buddy Hield led the team with 29 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Isaiah Jackson added 17 points with six rebounds and five blocks, Jalen Smith scored 16 points off the bench while Tyrese Haliburton chipped in with 14 points and 11 assists. As a team, the Pacers shot 49 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they squandered an eight-point fourth quarter lead, before going ice-cold in the overtime period where they managed a measly two points to allow the Thunder to slip away in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Pacers are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall, the Celtics are 7-3-2 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and the Celtics are 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Indiana.
The Celtics have been on fire lately and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from last night’s gritty win as the Pistons really took it to them for most of the game. Contrastingly, the Pacers have been in a real slump and they just lost to the slumping Thunder in a tough overtime loss in their last outing. The Celtics are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Indiana, so I’m sticking with the men in green to stay hot in this spot.
