The Atlanta Hawks pay a visit to the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center on Wednesday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their past six games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after snapping a two-game skid with a 124-116 win over the Cavaliers last night. Trae Young led the team with 41 points and nine assists on 13 of 22 shooting, Danilo Gallinari added 25 points while DeAndre Hunter chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 41 from the 3-point line as they poured in 66 points in the first half to take the early lead, before pulling away late in the fourth quarter to escape with the much-needed victory.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in a real funk lately as they’ve lost five of their past six games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting stopped by the Nuggets in a 121-111 road loss on Monday. Franz Wagner led the team with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Wendell Carter Jr. added 25 points with 12 rebounds and four assists while Jalen Suggs chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Magic shot 44 percent from the field and 11 of 39 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and never looked threatening after managing just 14 points in the first quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on zero days’ rest, 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Magic are 8-25-1 ATS in their last 34 home games and 7-21-1 ATS in their last 29 home games against a team with a road record below .400.
Head to head, the under is 41-19 in the last 60 meetings overall and the Hawks are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Hawks will again be missing John Collins who is out until after the All-Star break, while the Magic will be without Moritz Wagner, Markelle Fultz and RJ Hampton. The Magic haven’t been able to build any momentum lately and they’re a little banged up in this one, so I’m sticking with the Hawks to get the win behind another big game from Young once again.
