The Sacramento Kings and the Brooklyn Nets duke it out at the Barclays Center on Monday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after rallying past the Wizards in a 123-110 road win on Saturday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 26 points, Harrison Barnes added 21 points on seven of nine shooting, Maurice Harkless scored 17 points while Domantas Sabonis chipped in with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Kings shot 56 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and trailed going into halftime, before taking over in the second half where they outscored the Wizards by 64-45 to win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in horrible shape as they’ve now lost 11 in a row after coming up short against the Heat in a 115-111 road loss on Saturday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 29 points and five assists, Cam Thomas added 22 points off the bench while Kessler Edwards chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Nets shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 40 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Heat to pour in 38 points in the second quarter to fall behind early, before getting blown out in the third quarter where they managed just 18 points to trail by as many as 21 points which proved to be just enough as they cut the deficit to just one point with 22.3 seconds remaining.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games, 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Nets are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record, 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 1-5-1 ATS in their lats seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Brooklyn, the Kings are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Brooklyn and the Kings are 7-19 ATS in the last 26 meetings overall.
The Kings will again be without Terence Davis and Jeremy Lamb is listed as questionable for this one, while the Nets will again be without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, while Ben Simmons is yet to make his debut for his new team. The Kings have been anything but consistent this season, but they’ve found a bit of form recently and they would love a win over the Nets who are still mired in their worst slump of the season. I rarely feel comfortable backing the Kings, but they should be good enough to take advantage of the depleted Nets in this spot.
