The Sacramento Kings travel to the Capital One Arena to take on the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past five games and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the Timberwolves in a 132-119 home win on Wednesday. Harrison Barnes led the team with 30 points on eight of 11 shooting, De’Aaron Fox added 27 points while Domantas Sabonis tallied 22 points with 14 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Kings shot 51 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 42 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, before they outscored the Timberwolves by 33-18 in the fourth quarter to make it a blowout in the end. Justin Holiday had a bit of a rough night as he scored just six points on two of 11 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in horrible form as they’ve lost eight of their past 10 games overall, but they will be aiming to stay hot after sneaking past the Nets in a 113-112 home win on Thursday. Raul Neto led the team with 21 points and six assists, Kyle Kuzma and Anthony Gill each scored 15 points while Thomas Bryant chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line as they held the Nets to just 19 points in the third quarter to build a 13-point lead which proved to be just enough as the Nets rallied to cut the deficit to just one point before time ran out.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Wizards are 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 home games, 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a losing record and 8-22-2 ATS in their last 32 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 8-1 in the last nine meetings overall, the Kings are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings in Washington and the Kings are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Kings could be shorthanded in this one as Trey Lyles, Donte DiVincenzo and Maurice Harkless are all listed as questionable, while the Wizards will be without Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis and Daniel Gafford. The Kings have endured a tough season, but there’s plenty of optimism about this new-look team, especially after their big win over the Timberwolves on Wednesday. The Wizards were absolutely ice-cold before taking down the slumping Nets in their last outing, but they could be missing a bunch of players, so they will be relying on players like Bryant and Neto once again. With that being said, I think there is more to like about the Kings who are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
