The New York Knicks invade the Moda Center to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night.
The New York Knicks have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 10 of their past 13 games overall, but they will be looking to build some momentum after snapping a four-game slide with a 116-114 road win over the Warriors on Thursday. Julius Randle led the team with 28 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists, Evan Fournier added 22 points while Alec Burks chipped in with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists off the bench. As a team, the Knicks shot just 43 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after falling behind going into halftime, but they took control of the game with a pivotal 11-2 run in the third quarter to build a 12-point lead that would prove to be just enough in the end.
Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in poor form as well as they’ve lost eight of their past 10 games overall, but they will be looking to stay hot snapping a six-game losing streak with a 107-105 win over the Lakers on Wednesday. Anfernee Simons led the team with 29 points and five assists, Jusuf Nurkic added 19 points with 12 rebounds and three assists, while Justise Winslow chipped in with 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line as they allowed 36 points in the second quarter to fall behind by nine points in the first half, before taking over in the second half where they poured in 60 points to escape with the win on free throws down the stretch.
Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team below. 400 and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Trail Blazers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings overall and the Knicks are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Knicks will be shorthanded for this one as RJ Barrett has been ruled out while Nerlens Noel is listed as questionable. The Trail Blazers are dealing with a bunch of new faces in their lineup after trading away CJ McCollum, but they will be full of confidence after upsetting the Lakers in their last outing. The Knicks were in terrible shape before snapping out of it with a much-needed win over the Warriors on Thursday and they are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall, so I’m leaning towards the Knicks in this spot.
