The Toronto Raptors and the Oklahoma City Thunder duke it out at the Paycom Center on Wednesday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their past 10 games overall and they will be eager to build on their current six-game win streak after routing the Hornets in a 116-101 road win on Monday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 24 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, Gary Trent Jr. added 24 points while OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet each scored 20 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 35 points in the first quarter to build a 23-point lead, before pouring in another 36 points in the fourth quarter to make it a blowout.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in a real slump as they’ve lost nine of their past 12 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting beaten by the Warriors in a 110-98 home loss on Monday. Luguentz Dort led the team with 26 points, Darius Bazley added 20 points while Josh Giddey chipped in with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Thunder shot just 41 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line as they allowed 36 points in the second quarter to fall behind by 10 points going into halftime and things didn’t get much better in the second half despite Giddey flirting with a triple-double.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games following a win of more than 10 points and 21-6 ATS in their last 27 games overall. The Thunder are 8-2-3 ATS in their last 13 home games, 2-0-2 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings overall, the Raptors are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and the Raptors are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Oklahoma City.
The Raptors are just about at full strength for this one except for Goran Dragic who is still out due to personal reasons. The Thunder are a little banged up as they’re still missing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Mike Muscala and Isaiah Roby. The Raptors have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league, they’ve got all their key players and they are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Oklahoma City. Give me the Raptors to get the win and cover over the shorthanded Thunder in this spot.
