The Phoenix Suns and the Philadelphia 76ers collide at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night.
The Phoenix Suns have been on a tear lately as they’ve won 13 of their past 14 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight win after outlasting the Bulls in a 127-124 road win last night. Devin Booker led the team with 38 points and five assists on 14 of 23 shooting, Chris Paul added 19 points with 11 assists while JaVale McGee hipped in with 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocks off the bench. As a team, the Suns shot 54 percent from the field and 12 of 32 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half and led by as many as 27 points, before the Bulls poured in 41 points in the fourth quarter to make it interesting late.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in stellar form as they’ve won six of their past eight games and they will be hoping to stay hot after taking down the Bulls in a 119-108 road win on Sunday. Joel Embiid led the team with 40 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, Tobias Harris added 23 points with eight rebounds and five assists while Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 16 points and six assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 53 percent from the field and 12 of 24 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 34 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before going on another run in the fourth quarter to push the margin out to 17 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record. The 76ers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team above .600 and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 home games against a team with a winning road record.
Head to head, the over is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings overall, the Suns are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings in Philadelphia and the Suns are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Suns have been the benchmark in the league this season and they will come into this game full of confidence despite an ugly win over the Bulls last night. The 76ers will again be without Shake Milton while Matisse Thybulle is listed as questionable, but they too will be looking to stay hot after beating the Bulls in their last outing. You can make an argument for either side here as both teams have been playing well lately, but with the line so short, I’m leaning towards the 76ers to get the statement win over the Suns who are playing on zero days’ rest.
