The Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets duke it out at the Barclays Center on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in a real funk lately as they’ve lost five of their past seven games and they will be itching to get back in the win column after falling short to the Heat in a 113-107 road loss on Sunday. LeBron James led the team with 33 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Russell Westbrook added 24 points with nine rebounds and nine assists while Avery Bradley chipped in with 15 points. as a team, the Lakers shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 40 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and trailed by as many as 26 points in this one before they poured in 37 points in the fourth quarter to make it interesting late.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last 10 games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Timberwolves in a 136-125 road loss on Sunday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 30 points and five assists, Patty Mills added 21 points while James Harden chipped in with 13 points and 13 assists. As a team, the Nets shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line, but they were leaking points like a sieve in this one as the Timberwolves set the tone with 72 points in the first half to put the Nets behind by as many as 17 points in this one.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games against a team with a winning record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Nets are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 home games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a losing road record and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 12-3 in the last 15 meetings in Brooklyn, the Lakers are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Lakers are 14-4-3 ATS in the last 21 meetings in Brooklyn.

The big news is that the Lakers have listed Anthony Davis as probable for this one which is a major boost for the team, but it’s a different story for the Nets who are without Joe Harris, Kevin Durant and possibly Nic Claxton who is questionable. The Lakers have really cooled off lately but they will be buoyed by the return of their star big man and I think that will be the difference in a close one. The Lakers are 14-4-3 ATS in the last 21 meetings in Brooklyn and I think that trend continues here as the Lakers get the much-needed win.
