The Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls duke it out once again at the United Center on Wednesday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their past eight games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting thrashed by the Bulls in a 130-118 home loss on Monday. Cameron Reddish led the team with 33 points on 11 of 23 shooting, Trae Young added 29 points with nine assists while Bogdan Bogdanovic chipped in with 20 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 44 percent from the field and 15 of 34 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 36 points in the first quarter, but they just had no answer for the Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing 38 points in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in decent shape as they will be eager to build on their four-game win streak after taking down the Hawks on Monday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 35 points and 10 assists, Zach LaVine added 30 points and nine assists while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 24 points, 17 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Bulls shot a healthy 54 percent from the field and 18 of 37 from the 3-point line as they withstood an early run from the Hawks, before taking control with 38 points in the second quarter as they caught fire from deep.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 35-16 ATS in their last 51 games against a team with a losing record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 14-5 in the last 19 meetings in Chicago.
The Hawks were already dealing with a long list of players missing and now they can add Bogdan Bogdanovic to the list as he entered the league’s health and safety protocols. The Bulls are dealing with their own list of players out, most notably being Lonzo Ball, but they are still coming into this one with plenty of momentum after wining their last four. It’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row, but I just can’t trust the Hawks to bounce back as they’ve been struggling for so long now.
