The Philadelphia 76ers travel to the Scotiabank Arena to take on the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their past six games, but they will be looking to build some momentum after blowing past the Wizards in a 117-96 road win on Sunday. Joel Embiid led the team with 36 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks, Tobias Harris added 23 points with seven rebounds and three assists while Furkan Korkmaz chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going, but they turned the game around with 38 points in the second quarter, before holding the Wizards to just 17 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 26 points.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent form as they’ve won five of their past eight games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting completely thrashed by the Cavaliers in a 144-99 road loss on Sunday. Yuta Watanabe led the team with 26 points and 13 rebounds, Chris Boucher added 21 points while DJ Wilson chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 41 percent from the field and nine of 36 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Cavaliers until the second quarter where they allowed 37 points to fall behind by 17 points at halftime and things only worsened in the second half where the Cavaliers ran riot.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a win and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Raptors are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games, 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings overall and the 76ers are 4-12 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Toronto.
The 76ers will once again be a little shorthanded as they will be without Shake Milton and Andre Drummond, while the Raptors have received some good news as Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr. have both been elevated to questionable after clearing the league’s health and safety protocols. The 76ers haven’t been at their absolute best lately, but they are the deserved favorites in this one, but they are only 4-12 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Toronto. It’s hard to make much of an argument for the Raptors, but I think we’re going to see a response from them after getting embarrassed in their last outing.
