The Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings duke it out at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies look to have off from their five-game win streak as they are now hoping to arrest a three-game slide after falling short against the Warriors in a 113-104 road loss on Thursday. Ja Morant led the team with 21 points and six assists, Jaren Jackson Jr. and De’Anthony Melton each scored 20 points while Dillon Brooks chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 42 percent from the field and eight of 26 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Warriors in a tight contest, until the fourth quarter where they scored just 21 points to allow the Warriors to pull away thanks to a scoring barrage from Stephen Curry.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in rough form as they’ve lost six of their past eight games and they will be hoping to stop a two-game skid after getting routed by the Clippers in a 105-89 home loss on Wednesday. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 22 points and 13 assists, Harrison Barnes added 18 points while Buddy Hield chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Kings shot just 40 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start, scoring just 38 points in the first half to trail by double-digits early, before getting blown out in the fourth quarter where the Clippers finished with a flurry. Hield had himself a rough shooting night as he shot just five of 22 from the field and five of 18 from the 3-point line.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 road games against a team with a losing home record. The Kings are 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 23-5 ATS in their last 28 games playing on three or more days’ rest and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Sacramento.
The Grizzlies are sweating on the availability of Brandon Clarke who is questionable for this one, while the Sacramento Kings will be hoping to have De’Aaron Fox who is listed as questionable as well. The Grizzlies were one of the hottest teams in the league before dropping their last three games, but they were right in the contest against the red-hot Warriors on Thursday, so I expect them to turn things around sooner rather than later. The Kings are coming into this one low on confidence and they could again be without De’Aaron Fox. With that being said, I’m going with the Grizzlies to bounce back with a win and cover in this spot.
