The Indiana Pacers invade the FTX Arena to do battle with the Miami Heat on Tuesday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their past six games and they will be aiming to stay hot after running past the Pistons in a 122-113 home win on Thursday. Caris LeVert led the team with 31 points and five assists on 12 of 18 shooting, Jrue Holiday added 17 points, Myles Turner scored 16 points with seven rebounds and four blocks while Chris Duarte chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists off the bench. As a team, the Pacers shot 49 percent from the field and seven of 32 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and poured in 70 points in the first half, before making a final push in the third quarter where they led by as many as 15 points.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after falling to the lowly Pistons in a 100-90 road loss on Sunday. Max Struss led the team with 24 points on seven of 16 shooting off the bench, Kyle Lowry added 19 points with 10 assists while Dewayne Dedmon chipped in with 11 points, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Heat shot 46 percent from the field and eight of 32 from the 3-point line as they took the narrow lead into halftime, before going ice-cold in the third quarter where they managed just 19 points to trail by 12 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record and 39-19-2 ATS in their last 60 games playing on three or more days’ rest. The Heat are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games against a team with a losing road record.
Head to head, the under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings overall and the Pacers are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Miami.
The Pacers are starting to heat up now, they just made light work of the Pistons and most importantly, they’re just about at full strength which is a luxury in the league at the moment. The Heat are dealing with a long list of injuries and their confidence took a hit after scoring just 90 points in a loss to the lowly Pistons in their last outing. The Heat will once again be without Jimmy Butler and PJ Tucker while Tyler Herro is considered questionable, so I’m taking the Pacers who will be well-rested as they haven’t played since Thursday.
