The Oklahoma City Thunder pay a visit to the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedExForum on Monday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in rough shape lately as they’ve lost 11 of their past 14 games, but they will be looking to stay hot in this one after taking down the Clippers in a thrilling 104-103 home win on Saturday. Luguentz Dort led the team in scoring with 29 points on 12 of 19 shooting, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 18 points with six assists while Josh Giddey tallied eight points with 18 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Thunder shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the 3-point line as they looked to be dead in the water, trailing by four points with just 17 seconds left on the clock, before they stole the game on a 3-pointer from Gilgeous-Alexander after the Clippers missed a pair of free throws.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in terrific form as they’ve won 10 of their past 12 games, but they will be looking to bounce back here after falling short to the struggling Trail Blazers in a 105-100 home loss last night. Dillon Brooks led the team with 37 points on 12 of 25 shooting, Steven Adams added 13 points with nine rebounds and five assists while Jaren Jackson Jr. chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 38 percent from the field and nine of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and kept pace with the Trail Blazers until the fourth quarter where they cooled off and scored just 20 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games and 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games overall. The Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Memphis, the Thunder are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Memphis and the Thunder are 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
The Grizzlies are clearly the team in better form in this matchup as they’ve quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league lately, but the Thunder will take plenty of confidence from their thrilling comeback win over the Clippers on Saturday. It’s tempting to take the Thunder with the hefty start, but they are only 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings overall, so I’m sticking with the more consistent Grizzlies to get back on track with a win and cover in this spot.
