The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets meet Thursday in NBA action at the Toyota Center. The New York Knicks look to snap a four-game losing streak. The Houston Rockets need a win after losing three of their last four games.
The New York Knicks are averaging 105.5 points on 43.6 percent shooting and allowing 107.3 points on 44 percent shooting. Julius Randle is averaging 19.5 points and 9.9 rebounds, while RJ Barrett is averaging 15.1 points and 2.1 assists. Derrick Rose is the third double-digit scorer and Evan Fournier is grabbing 2.7 rebounds. The New York Knicks are shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc and 78.9 percent from the free throw line. The New York Knicks are allowing 35.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45 rebounds per game.
The Houston Rockets are averaging 105.9 points on 44.6 percent shooting and allowing 112 points on 45.1 percent shooting. Christian Wood is averaging 16.7 points and 11.3 rebounds, while Eric Gordon is averaging 14.4 points and 1.9 rebounds. Jalen Green is the third double-digit scorer and Garrison Mathews is grabbing 2.9 rebounds. The Houston Rockets are shooting 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and 69.9 percent from the free throw line. The Houston Rockets are allowing 32.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.3 rebounds per game.
The Knicks are 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games playing on 1 days rest and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Rockets are 16-36 ATS in their last 52 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The under is 7-3 in Knicks last 10 road games. The over is 6-1 in Rockets last 7 overall. The Knicks are 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Houston and 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
The New York Knicks aren't a team I'm looking to back in the favorite role, as they've looked bad this season, and they're shooting just 40.9 percent from the field in their last five games. With that said, the Rockets are a banged up team that got absolutely smoked last night by the Cavaliers. The Rockets are a young club and such a loss could rattle their confidence a bit. If the Knicks cant win this game by a reasonable margin, the issues with them are bigger than we think. Give me the Knicks.
Randy’s Pick New York Knicks -4.5
