The Sacramento Kings travel to the Scotiabank Arena to battle the Toronto Raptors on Monday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in a slump as they’ve lost eight of their past 13 games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting thrashed by the Cavaliers in a 117-103 road loss on Saturday. Buddy Hield led the team with 21 points on seven of 13 shooting, Davion Mitchell added 14 points and five assists off the bench while De’Aaron Fox chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Kings shot 44 percent from the field and just seven of 28 from the 3-point line, but this game was one that was over before the second half as they fell behind by double-digits in the first quarter, before falling behind by 29 points after the Cavaliers exploded for 45 points in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be looking to build some momentum after sneaking past the Knicks in a 90-87 home win on Friday. Gary Trent Jr. led the team with 24 points on nine of 16 shooting, Fred VanVleet added 17 points with six rebounds and 11 assists while Pascal Siakam chipped in with 13 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 34 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 20-point lead, before escaping with the narrow win as they held the Knicks scoreless in the final four possessions.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games playing on one days’ rest. The Raptors are 4-14-1 ATS in their last 19 home games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Kings are 2-6-1 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
Richaun Holmes has been ruled out for this one, while the Raptors will be without Precious Achiuwa and David Johnson. The Kings haven’t been able to build any momentum lately and their confidence took another hit after getting routed by the shorthanded Cavaliers in their last outing. The Raptors are starting to heat up now with three wins in their last four outings, they will take plenty of confidence from their gritty win over the Knicks and they will be well-rested as they haven’t played since Friday. The Kings are only 2-6-1 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and I think that trend continues as the Raptors get the win and cover here.
