The Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in great form as they’ve won 11 of their past 13 games and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Rockets in a 123-114 road win on Friday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 41 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and two blocks on 15 of 19 shooting, Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis each scored 21 points while Pat Connaughton chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Bucks shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 39 from the 3-point line as they struggled in the first half and trailed by as many as 10 points after allowing 42 points in the second quarter, but they stayed in the contest and ran away with it in the fourth quarter where they held the Rockets to just 19 points to escape with the win.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in a real slump as they’ve lost five of their past six games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting stopped by the Raptors in a 90-87 road loss on Friday. RJ Barrett and Obi Toppin each scored 19 points, Julius Randle scored 13 points with 14 rebounds and five assists while Derrick Rose chipped in with 11 points off the bench. As a team, the Knicks shot just 35 percent from the field and nine of 34 from the 3-point line as they clawed their way back from an early 20-point deficit to take the lead with just 1:42 left in the fourth quarter, but they didn’t score a single point the rest of the way to allow the Raptors to steal the game late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Knicks are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 13-5 in the last 18 meetings in New York, the Bucks are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and the Bucks are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in New York.
The Bucks are clearly the team in better form in this matchup as they’ve been running through teams while the Knicks have lost five of their past six games. Obi Toppin has been ruled out for this one due to health and safety protocols, so the Knicks will be shorthanded here. With that being said, the Bucks are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in New York and I think that trend continues here as the Bucks should be too good in this spot.
