The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to the Scotiabank Arena to take on the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 10 of their past 12 games, but they will be eager to build some momentum after snapping an eight-game slide with a 114-103 road win over the Pistons on Monday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 30 points and 13 assists, Luguentz Dort added 28 points on nine of 19 shooting while Josh Giddey and Kenrich Williams each scored 12 points. As a team, the Thunder shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 25 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sloppy start and quickly found themselves in trouble after trailing by as many as 18 points in the first half, but they hung in the contest before exploding for 42 points in the fourth quarter to win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors haven’t been at their best as they’ve lost seven of their past 11 games, but they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Wizards by 102-90 home win on Sunday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 31 points on 10 of 21 shooting, Chris Boucher provided the spark off the bench with 14 points in 18 minutes of action while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 44 percent from the field and eight of 23 from the 3-point line as they held the Wizards to just 12 points in the first quarter to take the early double-digit lead, before exploding for 40 points in the second quarter to push the margin out to 21 points at halftime.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games, 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Raptors are 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games playing on two days’ rest.
Head to head, the under is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Thunder are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Toronto.
The Thunder were absolutely ice-cold before getting the much-needed win over the Pistons on Monday, but that’s not much of an achievement these days. The Raptors haven’t been setting the world on fire, but they are starting to pick up steam with wins over the Bucks and the Wizards, and it’s really good to see Siakam picking up his scoring lately. The betting trends favor the Thunder who are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games, but I’m sticking with the Raptors to earn their third straight win in this spot.
