The Chicago Bulls pay a visit to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their past six games and they will be eager to build on their current four-game win streak after routing the Nuggets in a 109-97 home win on Monday. Zach LaVine led the team with 32 points and eight assists on 13 of 23 shooting, Nikola Vucevic added 20 points with 10 rebounds while Lonzo Ball tallied 20 points with 10 rebounds, four assists and four blocks. As a team, the Bulls shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they struggled early and trailed for most of the game after scoring just 18 points in the first quarter, before pouring in 63 points in the second half to make it look easy in the end as they rode the hot hand of LaVine.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in rough shape lately as they’ve lost seven of their past 11 games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting stopped by the Bucks in a 112-104 road loss on Monday. Jarrett Allen led the team with 25 points, nine rebounds and two blocks on 10 of 12 shooting, Lauri Markkanen added 20 points while Kevin Love chipped in with 15 points in 19 minutes off the bench. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 38 percent from the field and 15 of 46 from the 3-point line as they did a decent job of staying within striking distance until the third quarter where they fell behind by 13 points. Darius Garland had a night to forget as he scored just 10 points on three of 12 shooting, Cedi Osman scored just nine points on three of 11 shooting while Isaac Okoro finished scoreless on zero of six shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Cavaliers are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 18-5 ATS in their last 23 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Cleveland, the Bulls are 31-14 ATS in the last 45 meetings overall and the Bulls are 20-6 ATS in the last 26 meetings in Cleveland.
The Bulls are coming into this game with plenty of momentum as they’re riding a four-game win streak, but they are going to be shorthanded in this one as DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso have been ruled out. The Cavaliers have been plagued by injuries lately which is why they’ve struggled to win lately, but they were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the red-hot Bucks on Monday. The Bulls are 20-6 ATS in the last 26 meetings in Cleveland and I think they’re worth a look as the underdogs in this spot.
