The Brooklyn Nets play host to the Chicago Bulls at the Barclays Center on Saturday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Knicks in a 119-115 road win on Thursday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 34 points on 12 of 19 shooting, while Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine each scored 27 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 49 percent from the field and 11 of 29 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates to an early 22-point lead, before making a decisive 8-2 run late in the fourth quarter after the Knicks reclaimed the lead. Lonzo Ball had a night to forget as he finished with just eight points on three of 14 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in fine form as they’ve won nine of their past 11 games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after outlasting the pesky Timberwolves in a 110-105 home win last night. Kevin Durant led the team with 30 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Patty Mills added 23 points on eight of 15 shooting, James Harden scored 20 points with seven rebounds and nine assists while LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Nets shot 46 percent from the field and just six of 23 from the 3-point line as they led for most of the game after pouring in 32 points in the second quarter, but it was never easy as the Timberwolves stuck with them right till the end. Harden was plagued by foul trouble all night and finished with six turnovers while shooting zero of five from the 3-point line.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record. The Nets are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings overall.
The Bulls have been in good form, they just took down the Knicks and should be well-rested as they haven’t played since Thursday. The Nets have been in great shape, but they were far from convincing in last night’s narrow win over the shorthanded Timberwolves and Harden is still turning the ball over way too much. It’s tempting to take the Nets at the short line at home, but I think the Bulls come into town and get the statement win this spot.
