The Toronto Raptors play host to the Milwaukee Bucks at the Scotiabank Arena on Thursday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in great shape lately as they will be looking to build on their current eight-game win streak after sneaking past the Hornets in a 127-125 home win last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 40 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists on 15 of 24 shooting, Khris Middleton added 21 points with five assists while Grayson Allen chipped in with 16 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Bucks shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and trailed by as many as 18 points after allowing 41 points in the first quarter, before coming back in the second half to steal the game on a clutch shot from Antetokounmpo with just 2 seconds left on the clock.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 10 of their past 13 games and they will be hoping to stop a three-game slide after falling short to the Grizzlies in a 98-91 home loss on Tuesday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 20 points and five assists, Scottie Barnes added 19 points with seven rebounds and four blocks while Fred VanVleet chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 39 percent from the field and 10 of 39 from the 3-point line, but a slow start meant that they were always trailing in this one after scoring just 18 points in the first quarter. The Raptors made a push in the third quarter to cut a 17-point deficit to just five points, but they just couldn’t get over the hump as the Grizzlies finished with a flurry. Precious Achiuwa had a night to forget as he scored just five points on one of eight shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Raptors are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 home games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team above .600 and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings overall and the Bucks are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Raptors have the advantage of extra rest as they haven’t played since Tuesday, but they’ve been a mess for a while now and it’s hard to back them against a Bucks team playing some of their best basketball of the season. The Bucks are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and they just look too tempting with the line so short.
