The Golden State Warriors pay a visit to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden State Warriors have been the best team in the league so far as they’ve won 17 of their first 19 games and they will be eager to build on their current six-game win streak after routing the Trailblazers in a 118-103 home win on Friday. Stephen Curry drained six 3-pointers to finish with 32 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, Andrew Wiggins added 25 points on 10 of 16 shooting, Jordan Poole scored 14 points with five assists while Draymond Green racked up 12 points with eight rebounds, 12 assists and three blocks. As a team, the Warriors shot 54 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line as they held the Trail Blazers to just 18 points in the second quarter to take a 14-point lead into halftime, before pouring in 33 points in the third quarter to push the lead out to 21 points. No bench player scored more than eight points, but all five starters finished in double figures.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last six games and they will be looking to build some momentum after taking down the Pistons in a 107-96 home win on Friday. Reggie Jackson led the team in scoring with 21 points, Terance Mann added 16 points with 10 rebounds off the bench, Eric Bledsoe scored 15 points while Ivica Zubac chipped in with 10 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Clippers shot just 42 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line which aren’t impressive numbers, but they did all of their damage in the first half where they outscored the Pistons by 64-40 to put the game to bed early. Paul George had a rough night as he finished with just 12 points on five of 19 shooting, while Luke Kennard scored just eight points on two of 10 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games, 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 22-5-1 ATS in their last 28 games overall. The Clippers are 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 games following a win of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Los Angeles, the Warriors are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Warriors are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Los Angeles.
These two teams last met on opening night back on Oct 21 and it was the Warriors who won by 115-113 behind 45 points from Stephen Curry. The Warriors have been consistently impressive since then and they are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record. The Clippers are coming into this game with a bit of momentum after blowing past the Pistons on Friday, but the Warriors are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Los Angeles and I think they represent decent value with the short line in this spot.
