The Phoenix Suns pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Saturday night.
The Phoenix Suns have been on fire lately and they will be eager to build on their current 15-game win streak after making light work of the Knicks in a 118-97 road win last night. Devin Booker led the team with 32 points on 14 of 27 shooting, DeAndre Ayton added 14 points with 13 rebounds on seven of nine shooting, Chris Paul added 14 points with 10 assists while Cameron Payne chipped in with 13 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Suns shot 55 percent from the field and 13 of 28 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and held the Knicks to just 17 points in the second quarter to take a 13-point lead into halftime, before cruising in the second half where they poured in 61 points to make it a blowout. A total of seven players finished in double figures in scoring as the Suns put together one of their best offensive games during this streak.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in great shape as they’ve won 12 of their past 14 games and they will be aiming for a fifth straight victory after blowing past the Celtics in a 123-104 road win on Wednesday. Patty Mills drained seven 3-pointer to lead the team with 23 points, Kevin Durant added 21 points with eight assists, James Harden tallied 20 points with 11 assists while LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in with 17 points and nine rebounds. As a team, the Nets shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 35 from the 3-point line as they poured in 62 points in the first half to take a 13-point lead into halftime, before exploding for 35 points in the third quarter to push the lead out to 29 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record, 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Nets are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on two days’ rest, 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600 and 16-7 ATS in their last 23 home games.
Head to head, the under is 7-2 in the last nine meetings in Brooklyn, the Suns are 3-9 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and the Suns are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Brooklyn.
Two of the hottest teams in the league collide in this one as the Nets host the surging Suns at the Barclays Center. The Suns are obviously coming into this one with plenty of momentum as they have won 15 in a row and their starters barely had to work in last night’s big win over the Knicks. Everyone wants to be the team that snaps the win Suns’ win streak, so I’m expecting the Nets to come out firing here, but I just can’t go past the Suns as the road underdogs in a game they could easily win outright.
