The Atlanta Hawks and the Memphis Grizzlies duke it out at the FedExForum on Friday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league as they will now be aiming for a seventh straight victory after blowing past the Spurs in a 124-106 road win on Wednesday. Trae Young led the team with 31 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists, Bogdan Bogdanovic added 18 points on seven of 12 shooting while John Collins chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 51 percent from the field and 12 of 26 from the 3-point line as they poured in 38 points in the second quarter to take the early lead, before making another push in the third quarter to push the margin to 21 points. A total of eight players finished in double figures in scoring in what was their most balanced scoring effort so far this season.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in decent shape as they've won three of their past five games, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting routed by the Raptors in a 126-113 home loss on Wednesday. Ja Morant led the team with 23 points and nine assists, Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane each scored 20 points while Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke each scored 16 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 51 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 71 points in the first half to lead by as many as 14 points, before allowing the Raptors to run them down in the second half where they were outscored by 67-42.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 1-11 ATS in their last 12 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games following a loss of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the under is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings overall and the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Memphis.
The Hawks have been in great form so they are coming into this meeting with plenty of momentum, but they could be shorthanded here as both Young and Bogdanovic are both listed on the injury report for this one. The Grizzlies were building nicely before getting blown away by the Raptors on Wednesday and they're almost at full strength now that Clarke and Brooks have returned to the lineup. The Hawks are the team in better form, but I like the Grizzlies to escape with the win if Young isn't able to suit up here.
