The Toronto Raptors and the Memphis Grizzlies duke it out at the FedExForum on Wednesday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in a slump as they’ve lost seven of their past nine games and they will be hoping for a better showing in this one after getting routed by the Warriors in a 119-104 road loss on Sunday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 21 points on eight of 17 shooting, Fred VanVleet added 17 points with seven assists while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 10 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 39 percent from and 15 of 37 as they struggled right from the start, allowing 36 points in the first quarter to fall behind by double-digits early and the things didn’t get much better in the second half where they fell behind by as many as 21 points. Precious Achiuwa scored 12 points on five of nine shooting but is currently listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in decent form recently as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Jazz in a 119-118 road win on Monday. Ja Morant led the team with 32 points and seven assists, Desmond Bane added 28 points while Jaren Jackson Jr, chipped in with 26 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they struggled in the first half and fell behind by as many as 11 points, before coming back with 65 points in the second half to edge the Jazz on a clutch 3-pointer from Jackson Jr. with just 6.7 seconds remaining.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the under is 32-10 in the last 42 meetings overall, the Raptors are 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and the Raptors are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Memphis.
Dillon Brooks is questionable for the Grizzlies with a hamstring injury while Precious Achiuwa is questionable for the Raptors. The Grizzlies have been streaky so far this season, but they’re starting to heat up again and they will take so much confidence from their thrilling road win over the Jazz on Monday. The Raptors should be well-rested as they haven’t played since Sunday, but they’ve struggled on their current road trip and I think they’ll struggle against a confident Grizzlies team who have been solid ta home.
