The Milwaukee Bucks play host to the Detroit Pistons at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night.
The Detroit Pistons have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their past five games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after falling short against the Heat in a 100-92 home loss last night. Jerami Grant led the team in scoring with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Saddiq Bey added 15 points while Frank Jackson chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot just 41 percent from the field and 10 of 38 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Heat early on and led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, but they came out flat in the fourth quarter and got burned as the Heat exploded for 33 points to steal the game. Cory Joseph scored just nine points while Cade Cunninngham scored just six points on two of 10 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in fine form as they’ve won six of their past eight games and they will be eager to build on their current four-game win streak after making light work of the Magic in a 123-92 home win on Monday. Jrue Holiday led the team with 18 points and four assists, Pat Connaughton drained five 3-pointers to finish with 17 points off the bench, Grayson Allen scored 14 points while Bobby Portis chipped in with 13 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Bucks shot 46 percent from the field and 18 of 45 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the tipoff, jumping out to a 20-point lead after the first quarter, before exploding for 41 points in the second quarter to take a 41-point lead into halftime.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a winning record. The Bucks are 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games, 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall, the Pistons are 1-6-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Milwaukee and the Pistons are 3-12-2 ATS in the last 17 meetings overall.
The Pistons haven’t been able to get much going lately and their confidence took another hit after they blew a 12-point lead against the Heat at home last night. The Bucks look to be heating up again as they’re getting healthy again and they must be feeling pretty good about themselves after blowingout the Magic on Monday. The line is quite hefty, but the Pistons are playing this one on zero days’ rest and they just seem to be catching the Bucks at just the wrong time. The Pistons are 3-12-2 Ats in the last 17 meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the Bucks roll at home.
