The Milwaukee Bucks play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past five games, but they will be eager to bounce back in this one after getting stomped by the new-look Bulls in a 121-103 home loss on Monday. Talen Horton-Tucker led the team with 28 points on nine of 19 shooting, Russell Westbrook added 25 points with eight assists while Anthony Davis chipped in with 20 points on six of nine shooting before getting ejected late in the third quarter. As a team, the Lakers shot 45 percent from the field and just six of 32 from the 3-point line but they were in trouble right from the start, falling behind by nine points at halftime, before allowing 37 points in the third quarter where Davis got ejected to erase all chances of a late comeback.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in a rut lately as they’ve lost seven of their past 10 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight loss after getting routed by the Hawks in a 120-100 road loss on Sunday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 26 points and six assists, Jrue Holiday added 19 points with eight assists while Grayson Allen chipped in with 18 points on seven of 11 shooting. As a team, the Bucks shot 45 percent from the field and 14 of 41 from the 3-point line as they struggled to hang in the contest and fell behind by 14 points at halftime, before the Hawks finished with a flurry in the fourth quarter to make it a blowout.
Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 road games, 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a losing record and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games overall. The Bucks are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings overall and the Lakers are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
The Lakers have been able to keep their heads above water since the LeBron James injury, but their confidence could be a little low in this one after getting blown out by the Bulls on Monday. The Bucks have really been doing it tough over their past 10 games and they’ve lost four of their five home games so far this season. I like the Bucks to snap out of their funk with a much-needed win here, but I think it will be a grind till the end, so I’m taking the Lakers with the points.
