The Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks duke it out at the State Farm Arena on Monday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in rough shape as they’ve lost eight of their past 10 games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the Wizards in a 104-92 home loss on Saturday. Cole Anthony led the team with 22 points and eight assists on four of 16 shooting, Wendell Carter Jr. added 17 points while Mo Bamba chipped in with 14 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks, but no other player scored more than eight points. As a team, the Magic shot just 33 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start, managing just 37 points in the first half, before falling behind by as many as 25 points as they couldn’t find any consistent offense until the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in a real slump lately as they’ve lost eight of their past 10 games overall, but they will be looking to build some momentum after snapping a six-game slide with a 120-100 home win over the Bucks last night. Trae Young led the team with 42 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists on 16 of 26 shooting, John Collins added 19 points while Clint Capela chipped in with 12 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Hawks shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they held the Bucks to just 44 points in the first half to take a 12-point lead at halftime, before finishing with a flurry in the fourth quarter to escape with the much-needed win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 games overall. The Hawks are 24-9 ATS in their last 33 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 39-18 in the last 57 meetings overall and the under is 22-7 in the last 29 meetings in Atlanta.
The Magic have really struggled with their injuries lately and they could be shorthanded once again as Jalen Suggs is currently listed as questionable with an ankle sprain. The Hawks have yet to fully hit their stride this season, but they were able to snap a six-game skid with a much-needed win over the Bucks last night thanks to a big game from Young, but the bad news is that they just learned that De’Andre Hunter will undergo surgery and is expected to miss roughly eight weeks. The line is a little high, but the Hawks should have no probably getting the cover if they play anything like last night against the Bucks.
