The Philadelphia 76ers and the Indiana Pacers collide at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers started the season in great form but they’re now looking to avoid a fourth straight loss after getting stopped by the Raptors in a 115-109 home loss on Thursday. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 33 points and five assists on 12 of 19 shooting, Tobias Harris added 19 points with seven rebounds and seven assists while Seth Curry chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they led for most of the game after getting off to a quick start, before going cold in the third quarter where they managed just 21 points. The 76ers then rallied back from a 10-point deficit to take the lead with 1:44 remaining, only to go scoreless the rest of the way as the Raptors stole the game late.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Jazz in a 111-100 road win on Thursday. Malcolm Brogdon led the team with 30 points, nine rebounds and four assists, TJ McConnell added 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists off the bench while Myles Turner chipped in with 13 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Pacers shot 44 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line as they took the early lead after pouring in 60 points in the first half, before pulling away in the second half where they led by as many as 15 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games against a team below .400. The Pacers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games, 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall, the 76ers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Indiana and the 76ers are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The 76ers were running through teams at the start of the season, but it looks as though the injuries have begun to take a toll, especially once Joel Embiid entered the league health and safety protocols. The Pacers have yet to hit their stride this season, but they’re starting to pick up some steam now and will be full of confidence after taking down the Jazz in their own building on Thursday. Caris LeVert is questionable for the Pacers so they too will likely be shorthanded again, but the 76ers are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and I think that trend continues here behind a big game from Brogdon.
