The New York Knicks play host to the Milwaukee Bucks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
The New York Knicks have been in decent form as they’ve won seven of their first 11 games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the shorthanded 76ers in a 103-96 road win on Monday. Julius Randle led the team with 31 points, 12 rebounds and three assists, RJ Barrett added 15 points with 10 rebounds and four assists while Evan Fournier chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they poured in 58 points in the first half to lead by as many as 19 points, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing as they had to rally in the fourth quarter after scoring just 14 points in the third quarter to allow the 76ers back into the contest. Kemba Walker had a quiet game of just eight points on three of nine shooting while Derrick Rose scored just six points on two of eight shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their past seven games, but they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the shorthanded 76ers in a 118-109 road win last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 31 points, 16 rebounds and four assists, Grayson Allen added 25 points on eight of 13 shooting while Bobby Portis chipped in with 19 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Bucks shot 46 percent from the field and 15 of 39 from the 3-point line as they held the 76ers to just 19 points in the second quarter to erase an early 13-point lead, before pulling away in the fourth quarter where they outscored the 76ers by 27-16 to escape with the much-needed win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team above .600 and 0-4 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days’ rest. The Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a winning road record and 24-9 ATS in their last 33 games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the under is 12-5 in the last 17 meetings in New York.
The Knicks are coming into this game with plenty of momentum after taking advantage of a shorthanded 76ers team on Monday thanks to a big game from Randle. The Bucks haven’t been playing anywhere near their best lately, but they were able to steady the ship with a hard-fought win over the 76ers last night behind big games from Antetokounmpo and Allen. It’s very tempting to take the Bucks who are rarely underdogs, but they are only 0-4 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days’ rest, so I’m leaning towards the Knicks to win this one behind their defense.
