The Indiana Pacers travel to the Golden 1 Center to take on the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.
The Indiana Pacers have struggled to get going this season as they’ve lost seven of their first 10 games and they will be hoping to get back in the win column after falling short against the Trailblazers in a 110-106 road loss on Friday. TJ McConnell led the team with 19 points on eight of 13 shooting, Myles Turner added 16 points, Domantas Sabonis scored 15 points with 12 rebounds and four assists while Justin Holiday chipped in with 12 points off the bench. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to rally back from a 16-point deficit in the second quarter to take a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter, but they managed just five points in the final 4:47 to allow the Trailblazers to steal the game late. Caris LeVert had a night to forget as he shot just six of 21 from the field and zero of eight from the 3-point line for his 12 points.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Hornets in a 140-110 home win on Friday. Buddy Hield drained eight 3-pointers to lead the way with 26 points off the bench, Richaun Holmes added 23 points with 20 rebounds on nine of 12 shooting, while De’Aaron Fox chipped in with 21 points and nine assists. As a team, the Kings shot a healthy 55 percent from the field and 22 of 44 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 41 points in the first quarter to take the early double-digit lead, before holding the Hornets to just 21 points in the fourth quarter where they ran away with it.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Kings are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record, 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the Pacers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Sacramento.
The Pacers could once again be shorthanded as Malcolm Brogdon is listed as questionable for this one and they really could’ve used his services in their tough loss to the Trailblazers on Friday. The Kings are starting to hit their stride now and their confidence will be sky-high after pouring a season-high 140 points against the Hornets in their last outing. It’s hard to split these two teams at the moment, but the Kings are the team in better form right now and there’s an injury cloud hanging over Brogdon for the Pacers, so I’m taking the Kings with this short line.
