The Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have lost four of their first seven games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game slide after getting stopped by the Jazz in a 107-95 home loss on Sunday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Grayson Allen added 18 points while Bobby Portis chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Bucks shot just 40 percent from the field and 12 of 41 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the tipoff, falling behind by as many as 17 points before making a late run in the fourth quarter to keep the final scores respectable. Khris Middleton sat out the game with an illness and his status for Tuesday is unclear.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in real funk as they’ve lost five of their first six games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting thrashed by the Nets in a 117-91 road loss on Sunday. Cory Joseph led the team in scoring with 13 points, Josh Jackson added 12 points while Jerami Grant chipped in with 11 points, but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the Pistons shot just 40 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by 15 points at halftime after allowing 36 points in the second quarter, before getting completely blown out in the fourth quarter where they managed just 17 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS loss. The Pistons are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Bucks are 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Detroit and the Bucks are 11-2-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall.
The Bucks have really cooled off lately after a hot start to the season and they will once again be shorthanded as both Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton have both been ruled out in this one. The Pistons haven’t been able to build any momentum so far and their confidence took a real hit after getting routed by the Nets in a 26=point loss on Sunday. It’s hard to back either team with much confidence, but the Bucks are 11-2-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and I think they can get the cover here with the line so short.
