The Dallas Mavericks play host to the Miami Heat at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday night.
The Miami Heat have been in great form as they’ve won five of their first six games and they will be looking to build on their current four-game win streak after making light work of the Grizzlies in a 129-103 road win on Saturday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 27 points and seven assists on eight of 12 shooting, Tyler Herro provided the spark off the bench with 22 points and five assists while Kyle Lowry and Duncan Robinson each scored 15 points. As a team, the Heat shot 52 percent from the field and a sizzling 21 of 37 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to take the early double-digit lead before pouring in another 35 points in the third quarter to push the margin out to 29 points.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their first six games and they will be hoping to stay hot after outlasting the Kings in a 105-99 home win on Sunday. Luka Doncic led the team with 23 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 16 points while Dorian Finney-Smith chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line as they led by 12 points early in the fourth quarter, before hanging on for the narrow win after the Kings cut the lead to just three points late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a win and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Mavericks are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games, 0-6 ATS in their last six games following a win and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Dallas, the Heat are 8-3-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and the Heat are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Dallas.
The Heat have been one of the form teams of the league so far and they will be full of confidence after dismantling the Grizzlies in a 26-point road win on Saturday. The Mavericks are starting to build some momentum themselves, but they were far from convincing in their narrow win to the Kings and they could again be without Kristaps Porzingis who has missed the last three games with back soreness. The Heat have their own injuries as Bam Adebayo will likely sit out again, but they still have more than enough firepower to get the job done here. The Heat are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Dallas and I think that trend continues here as the Heat escape with the win.
