The Indiana Pacers play host to the San Antonio Spurs at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday night.
The San Antonio Spurs have been doing it tough so far this season as they’ve lost four of their first six games, but they will be feeling much better after arresting a four-game slide with a 102-93 road win over the Bucks on Saturday. Dejounte Murray led the team with 23 points and nine assists on nine of 17 shooting, Derrick White added 17 points, Bryn Forbes scored 16 points off the bench while Keldon Johnson chipped in with 12 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. As a team, the Spurs shot just 41 percent from the field and seven of 31 from the 3-point line as they trailed going into halftime after scoring just 18 points in the second quarter, but they regrouped and were able to pull off the upset behind their defense as they outscored the Bucks by 57-46 in the second half.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in terrible form so far as they’ve lost six of their first seven games and they will be hoping to avoid a fifth straight defeat after falling just short to the Raptors in a 97-94 home loss on Saturday. Domantas Sabonis led the team with 22 points, 14 rebounds and three steals, Justin Holiday added 16 points, Caris LeVert scored 15 points in his season debut, while Myles Turner chipped in with 10 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and five blocks. As a team, the Pacers shot 43 percent from the field and 13 of 43 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Raptors for most of the game, until the fourth quarter where the Raptors used a pivotal 12-5 run to pull away and steal the game late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 4-0 ATS in their last four road games. The Pacers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Spurs are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
Jeremy Lamb is listed as doubtful while Caris LeVert and Malcolm Brogdon are both questionable for this one, so the Pacers will be severely shorthanded once again. The Spurs are coming into this one with plenty of confidence after taking down the Bucks on Saturday and they are 8-2 ATS int heir last 10 games against a team with a losing record, so I think they represent decent value as underdogs in this spot.
