The Utah Jazz pay a visit to the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday night.
The Utah Jazz kicked off their season with four straight wins but they’re suddenly looking to bounce back after getting stopped in their tracks by the Bulls in a 107-99 road loss last night. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Rudy Gobert tallied 17 points with 19 rebounds and three blocks, Jordan Clarkson scored 16 points while Bojan Bogdanovic chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds. As a team, the Jazz shot just 38 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line as they poured in 33 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, before going ice-cold in the third quarter where they managed just 15 points to trail by as many as 17 points. Mitchell shot just nine of 27 from the field and two of 11 from the 3-point line while Clarkson shot just five of 19 from the field.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks were in decent shape after winning three of their first four games, but they are suddenly hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after last night’s 102-93 home loss to the Spurs. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 28 points, 13 rebounds and three assists on 11 of 18 shooting, Khris Middleton added 19 points with five assists while Grayson Allen chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Bucks shot just 40 percent from the field and 10 of 39 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control after leading for most of the first half, before getting run off the floor in the fourth quarter where the Spurs poured in 33 points to escape with the win. Thanasi Antetokounmpo finished scoreless in 18 minutes of action while no bench player scored more than six points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games as a road favorite, 0-4 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days’ rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record. The Bucks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Jazz are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Milwaukee and the Jazz are 29-8 ATS in the last 37 meetings overall.
The Jazz were one of the hottest teams in the league before beaten by the Bulls in a tough road loss last night, so they will be eager to get back in the win column here. The Bucks have done well to keep their heads above water despite the injuries, but they didn’t have nearly enough offense last night against the Spurs, so it’s going to be tough against the elite defense of the Jazz. The Jazz are 29-8 ATS in the last 37 meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the Jazz get the win.
