Gordon Hayward led the team with 23 points, six rebounds and four assists, Miles Bridges added 22 points, Kelly Oubre Jr. tallied 17 points while Cody Martin chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Hornets shot just 38 percent from the field and 13 of 37 from the 3-point line but they got off to a slow start on offense and were always fighting an uphill battle after falling behind by as many as 26 points. LaMelo Ball had one of the worst games of his young career as he finished with just six points on two of 14 shooting.
