The Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers duke it out at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday night.
The Toronto Raptors have split their first six games, but they will be aiming for a third straight victory after outlasting the Magic in a 110-109 home win last night. Scottie Barnes led the team in scoring with 21 points, nine rebounds and two steals, Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. each scored 19 points while OG Anunoby chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to take a 12-point lead with 1:55 left on the clock, before escaping with the narrow win as the Magic’s Cole Anthony missed the game-winner at the buzzer.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in terrible form as they’ve lost five of their first six games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting beaten by the Nets in a 105-98 road loss last night. Torrey Craig led the team with 28 points, 11 rebounds and three assists off the bench, Domantas Sabonis added 16 points with seven rebounds and six assists while Chris Duarte finished with 19 points on nine of 19 shooting. As a team, the Pacers shot just 39 percent from the field and eight of 29 from the 3-point line as they poured in 38 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early 16-point lead, before getting run down in the second and third quarters where they were outscored by a combined 59-36. TJ McConnell scored just eight points on four of 14 shooting while Justin Holiday finished with just six points on two of eight shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on zero days’ rest, 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record. The Pacers are 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest, 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall, the Raptors are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Indiana. The Raptors were somewhat lucky in last night’s win over the Magic as they could’ve easily lost despite leading by 12 points with less than two minutes remaining, but overall, they’re clearly the team in better form when compared to the struggling Pacers who will again be without their leading scorer in Malcolm Brogdon. The Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Indiana and I think that trend continues in this one as VanVleet and Anunoby lead the Raptors to another win here.
