The Philadelphia 76ers play host to the Detroit Pistons at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night.
The Detroit Pistons have yet to taste success this season as they are now hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after getting routed by the Hawks in a 122-104 road loss on Monday. Saddiq Bey and Kelly Olynyk each scored 21 points, Josh Jackson added 18 points with six rebounds and four assists while Isaiah Stewart chipped in with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled early and scored just 18 points in the first quarter, before getting blown out in the third quarter where the Hawks poured in 33 points to put them behind by as many as 23 points.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have split their four games this season and they will be hoping to bounce back in a big way after getting beaten by the Knicks in a 112-99 road loss on Tuesday. Tobias Harris led the team with 23 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, Joel Embiid added 14 points while Georges Niang chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot just 43 percent from the field and 12 of 41 from the 3-point line as they got off to a solid start, before getting completely blown off the floor in the second quarter where they got outscored by 39-16 which saw them trail by 27 points. Embiid had a rough shooting night as he made just two of seven from the field while Furkan Korkmaz finished with just nine points on three of 12 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 0-6 ATS in their last six road games, 0-7 ATS in their last seven games following a loss of more than 10 points and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The 76ers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following a loss of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall, the Pistons are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in Philadelphia and the Pistons are 3-11 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall.
The Pistons have struggled to put up points with their young lineup and I think they’re really going to struggle if Grant isn’t able to suit up as he is currently listed as questionable for this one. The 76ers have their own injuries to deal with as Embiid is listed as questionable for this one also, but they still have more than enough firepower to defend home court in this spot. Give me the 76ers to bounce back with a win in this one.
