The Philadelphia 76res travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won two of their first three games and they will be hoping to build some momentum after beating the Thunder in a 115-103 road win on Sunday. Seth Curry drained seven 3-pointers to lead the team with 28 points on nine of 15 shooting, Joel Embiid added 22 points with nine rebounds, six assists and three blocks while Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey each scored 14 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 46 percent from the field and 17 of 41 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 36 points in the first quarter to take an early double-digit lead, before pulling away in the third quarter with a 25-10 run to blow the margin out to 18 points in a game in which they never trailed.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their two-game win streak halted by the Magic in a 110-104 upset home loss on Sunday. Julius Randle led the team with 30 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks, Derrick Rose drained five 3-pointers to finish with 23 points off the bench, RJ Barrett added 12 points with five assists while Mitchell Robinson chipped in with 10 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Knicks shot just 37 percent from the field and 13 of 48 from the 3-point line as they controlled the first half to lead by as many as 13 points, before getting completely ambushed in the fourth quarter where the Magic exploded for 36 points to steal the game late.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points. The Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 21-10 ATS in their last 31 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings in New York.
The 76ers are starting to build some momentum as they’re coming into this one fresh off an easy win over the Thunder while the Knicks just lost a winnable game against the Magic after beating them by 25 points just a couple nights prior. Andre Drummond is currently listed as questionable for this game with an ankle injury, so the 76ers will still be shorthanded in this one, but I still think they get the job done in this one behind a big game from Embiid.
