The Indiana Pacers play host to the Miami Heat at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

The Miami Heat will be brimming with confidence after blowing away the defending champions Bucks in a 137-95 home win on Thursday night. Tyler Herro led the team in scoring with 27 points, six rebounds and five assists off the bench, Jimmy Butler added 21 points with six assists while Bam Adebayo chipped in with 20 points and 13 rebounds on nine of 13 shooting. As a team, the Heat shot a healthy 53 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they never looked in danger after taking a massive lead with 40 points in the first quarter. In what was truly a dominant win, the only blemish was the play of the newly acquired Kyle Lowry who scored just five points on one of eight shooting.

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling painfully short to the Wizards in a 135-134 road loss last night. Myles Turner led the team in scoring with 40 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks on 15 of 22 shooting, Malcolm Brogdon racked up 28 points with eight rebounds and eight assists while Domantas Sabonis chipped in with 28 points, nine rebounds and seven assists on 10 of 13 shooting. As a team, the Pacers shot 53 percent from the field and 15 of 34 from the 3-point line as they squandered a six-point lead with 1:45 left in the fourth quarter, before falling just short as the Wizards scored six points straight in the final 59 seconds to escape with the win.

Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record. The Pacers are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days rest and 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record.

Head to head, the under is 7-2 in the last nine meetings overall, the Heat are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Heat are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Indiana.

The Heat enjoyed a perfect start to their season as they looked fantastic in their dominant win over the Bucks on Thursday and they’re only going to improve once Lowry finds his groove in the offense. The Pacers were dealt a pair of tough losses to start the season despite big games from Sabonis and now Turner which is frustrating for a team as good as the Pacers. This should be a close one and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pacers finally earn their first win of the season, but I think the smarter play is on the Heat at the short line as their depth could be the difference against a shorthanded Pacers lineup.
