The Detroit Pistons travel to the United Center to take on the revamped Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.
The Detroit Pistons will be looking for revenge after falling just short to the Bulls in a 94-88 home loss on Wednesday night. Jerami Grant led the team with 24 points on eight of 20 shooting, Saddiq Bey added 13 points with nine rebounds and four assists while Isaiah Stewart chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Pistons shot just 40 percent from the field and six of 28 from the 3-point line as they played great defense to take the early lead by holding the Bulls to just 14 points in the first quarter, before getting run down in the second half as they went cold themselves. Cory Joseph had a night to forget as he scored just three points on one of six shooting in 28 minutes off the bench while Killian Hayes finished scoreless on zero of six shooting.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have started their season with plenty of momentum as they will be aiming for a third straight victory after last night’s 128-112 win over the Pelicans. Zach LaVine led the team with 32 points, six rebounds and five assists, DeMar DeRozan added 26 points while Lonzo Ball racked up a triple-double of 17 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Bulls shot 52 percent from the field and 14 of 28 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game right from the start, jumping out to an 18-point lead going into halftime, before cruising in the second half.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 0-6 ATS in their last six games as an underdog, 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record. The Bulls are 5-0 ATS in their last five games as a favorite, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest.
Head to head, the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings overall, the Pistons are 0-8 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and the Pistons are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Chicago.
These two teams met back on Wednesday and it was the Bulls who escaped with the narrow win in their first game together as a new lineup. It wasn’t the most convincing of wins as the Bulls committed 17 turnovers which kept the Pistons in the game right till the end, but in a game where both teams struggled on offense, LaVine shone with 34 points and I think he’ll be the difference once again. Give me the Bulls to stay hot with another win and cover in this one.
