The Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks meet in game four of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semi-final series in NBA action from the Fiserv Forum on Sunday.
The Brooklyn Nets will look to rebound and take a 3-1 series lead going back home after an 86-83 loss to the Bucks in game three last time out. Kevin Durant led the Nets with 30 points coming on 11 of 28 shooting with 3 threes, 10 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists for the double-double while Kyrie Irving had 22 points with 5 rebounds. Bruce Brown added 16 points with a team-high 11 rebounds and 3 assists for a double-double of his own and to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for the Nets in the loss. Kevin Durant leads the Nets in scoring and rebounding with 31.8 PPG and 7.6 RPG while Irving has 24.1 PPG with 5.9 RPG and 3.6 APG. James Harden continues to miss time due to injury with 23.2 PPG, 6.2 RPG and a team-high 8.8 APG and Joe Harris is chipping in 12.8 PPG this postseason. As a team, Brooklyn is averaging 117.4 PPG on 48.6% shooting from the field, 43.6% from three and 91.1% from the foul line while allowing 102.8 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the field and 26.8% from three in their last five games.
The Milwaukee Bucks will look to even up the set and make this series a best-of-three after getting on the board with their game three win last time out. Khris Middleton led the way with 35 points on 12 of 25 shooting with 3 threes and a team-high 15 rebounds for the double-double while Giannis Antetokoumpo had 33 points on 14 of 31 shooting with 14 boards as the only other double-digit scorer for Milwaukee in the win. Brook Lopez also grabbed 11 rebounds and Jrue Holiday dished out a team-high 5 assists. Antetokoumpo leads the Bucks in scoring and rebounding with 25.6 PPG and 13.7 RPG in addition to 5.9 APG while Khris Middleton has 21.6 PPG and 8.8 RPG. Jrue Holiday has 14.3 PPG with 6.3 RPG and a team-high 7.6 APG while Brook Lopez and Bryn Forbes are both averaging double figures as well in the postseason. As a team, Milwaukee is averaging 102.4 PPG on 44.3% shooting from the field, 27.7% from three and 67.5% from the foul line while allowing 102 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field and 36% from three in their last five games.
Brooklyn is 17-4 ATS in their last 21 games as a favorite and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Milwaukee is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 conference semi-finals games.
This is a tough game to figure out with so much at stake for both sides, but I’m leaning towards the under here. We’ve yet to see an offensive breakout from the Bucks despite expecting it since game one and the Nets well, even if they get back to scoring here, I don’t think it’s enough from both sides to come close to this total. Give me the under.
