The Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets meet in game two of their best of seven Eastern Conference semi-final matchup in NBA action from Barclays Center on Monday.
The Milwaukee Bucks will look to bounce back and even up the series after a 115-107 loss to the Nets in game one on Saturday. Giannis Antetokoumpo led the way with 34 points coming on an efficient 16 of 24 hooting with a pair of threes, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the double-double while Brook Lopez had 19 points on 8 of 11 shooting. Jrue Holiday had 17 points with 9 rebounds and a team-high 6 assists and Khris Middleton had 13 points and a team-high 13 rebounds with 4 assists for a double-double of his own and to finish off the scoring in double figures for Milwaukee in the loss. Giannis Antetokoumpo leads the Bucks in scoring and rebounding with 25.6 PPG and 14.2 RPG while Khris Middleton is averaging 19.8 PPG and 8 RPG. Brook Lopez is averaging 16.8 PPG and 6.4 RPG and Jrus Holiday is averaging 15.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG and a team-high 9 APG as well. Bryn Forbes is also averaging 13 PPG for the Bucks. As a team, Milwaukee is averaging 116.2 PPG on 46.3% shooting from the field, 30.7% from three and 72.2% from the foul line in their last five games while allowing 101.4 PPG on 41.1% shooting from the field and 34.4% from three in their last five games.
The Brooklyn Nets will be out to take a 2-0 series lead after their game one win on Saturday. Kevin Durant led the Nets with 29 points along with 10 rebounds for the double-double. Kyrie Irving added 25 points with a team-high 8 assists and Blake Griffin had 18 points with a team-high 14 rebounds for a double-double of his own. Joe Harris chipped in 19 points on an efficient 7 of 11 shooting with 5 threes and Mike James added 12 points with 7 rebounds to cap off the scoring in double figures for Brooklyn in the victory. Kevin Durant leads the Nets with 32 PPG and 7.8 RPG so far in the postseason while Kyrie Irving is averaging 24.8 PPG and James Harden is averaging 23.2 PPG and a team-high 8.8 APG but his status is up in the air after a hamstring injury in the win. Joe Harris is also contributing 14.3 PPG for the Nets so far this postseason. As a team, Brooklyn is averaging 125.6 PPG on 50.6% shooting from the field, 45.1% from three and 91.5% from the foul line while allowing 115 PPG on 45% shooting from the field and 32.2% from three in their last five games.
Milwaukee is 15-34-2 ATS in their last 51 playoff games as an underdog and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss. Brooklyn is 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a home favorite and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games against a team with a winning road record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. The over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings between these two teams in Brooklyn.
The total has gone down a total of six points from what it sat at going into game one, and I still don’t think that’s enough of an adjustment. There’s no James Harden for the rest of the series and for two teams that played a bunch of high-scoring games and had high-scoring outputs in round one, there was a serious adjustment in game one of this round and I still think points are going to be tough to get in game two. I’m looking at the under once again in this one.
