The Philadelphia 76ers will be looking to complete the series sweep against the Washington Wizards in Game 4 at the Capital One Arena on Monday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers will be looking to move onto the next round after making light work of the Wizards in a dominant 132-103 win in Game 3 on Saturday. Joel Embiid led the team with 36 points on 14 of 18 shooting, Tobias Harris added 20 points with 13 rebounds and five assists, Ben Simmons scored 14 points with nine assists while Danny Green and Seth Curry each scored 15 points. As a team, the 76ers shot a sizzling 58 percent from the field and 17 of 33 from the 3-point line as they got just about any shot they wanted and poured in 72 points in the first half, before running away with it in the second half where they led by as many as 31 points.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards will be fighting to avoid the dreaded series sweep after falling flat on their faces on Saturday. Russell Westbrook led the team with a triple-double of 26 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists, Bradley Beal added 25 points while Daniel Gafford chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot just 39 percent from the field and eight of 35 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep up with the 76ers right from the start and Beal had a rough shooting night as he made just 10 of 26, but the problem was their defense as they had no answer for the Embiid who barely missed all night.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Wizards are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as an underdog, 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Washington, the 76ers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Washington and the 76ers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The 76ers came out red-hot in Game 3 and were hardly threatened after jumping out to an early double-digit lead. Embiid got just about any look he wanted and he barely missed all night but it wasn’t a one-man show as all five starters finished in double figures in scoring. The Wizards will come out firing after getting embarrassed in the last meeting, but I’m sticking with the 76ers to get the job done and move onto the second round.
