The Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics meet Sunday in game four of the NBA East Playoffs at the TD Garden.
The Brooklyn Nets look for a win to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. The Brooklyn Nets are averaging 117.7 points on 46.5 percent shooting and allowing 108.7 points on 43.4 percent shooting. Kevin Durant is averaging 32.3 points and 2.3 assists while James Harden is averaging 27.3 points and seven rebounds. Kyrie Irving is the third double-digit scorer and Joe Harris is dishing one assist. The Brooklyn Nets are shooting 37.3 percent from beyond the arc and 90.2 percent from the free throw line. The Brooklyn Nets are allowing 37.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.3 rebounds per game.
The Boston Celtics look for another win to even up the series at 2-2. The Boston Celtics are averaging 108.7 points on 43.4 percent shooting and allowing 117.7 points on 46.5 percent shooting. Jayson Tatum is averaging 27 points and 4.3 rebounds while Marcus Smart is averaging 19.7 points and 5.7 assists. Evan Fournier is the third double-digit scorer and Kemba Walker is grabbing four rebounds. The Boston Celtics are shooting 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 79.2 percent from the free throw line. The Boston Celtics are allowing 37.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43 rebounds per game.
The Nets are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Celtics are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The under is 4-1 in Nets last 5 road games. The under is 4-1 in Celtics last 5 overall. The Nets are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
The Brooklyn Nets were still hanging around in their game three loss and only Durant and Harden showed up offensively. The Boston Celtics needed Tatum to play out of his mind, the team to shoot over 50 percent from the field and to make 16 threes, and the game still got hairy in the final minute. I question if the Celtics can repeat such a performance to make this contest competitive. The Nets also have even more reason to wrap this series up now that the Milwaukee Bucks are waiting. I'll eat the chalk.
